The Drake men’s basketball home opener against Robert Morris marked the beginning of a new era.

Eric Henderson – after leading his team to a narrow victory over Northern Arizona on Nov. 3 – took to the sidelines at the Knapp Center for his first home game as the Bulldogs head coach three days later.

It marked the second time in as many years that Drake basketball experienced this kind of restart, with Ben McCollum departing the Bulldogs basketball program for the Iowa Hawkeyes after just one season.

But Henderson’s debut in Des Moines ended in disappointment, with the Bulldogs falling to Robert Morris, 81-79, in overtime.

"At the end of the day, we've got to do a better job of making sure that we come out and dictate the flow of this game," Henderson said postgame. "We'll keep learning
