NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT) -- November 6 is a day that many in the Tri-State will never forget. It was 20 years ago Thursday that an F3 tornado carved a path of destruction through Kentucky and Indiana killing over two dozen people.

Thursday, the community gathered at First Christian Church in Newburgh for a remembrance service marking the anniversary. First responders lined the entrance with their vehicles and lights honoring the lives lost, the survivors, and those who gave so much in the aftermath.

The 90-minute service featured emotional slide shows and heartfelt speeches from survivors who lived through the storm.
