The City of Huntsville has greenlit a major development project that will introduce over 500,000 square feet of new retail and dining options to north Huntsville. This $240 million venture is set to transform the area around State Route 255 and Memorial Parkway across from the new full-service Food City grocery store that opened in July.

Construction is slated to begin in spring 2026, with the first stores opening in 2027. The development, named North Village Town Center, will feature major anchors like Target and Home Depot, along with a variety of national and regional retailers and restaurants.
