Heading into the season, Bishop Dwenger might not have been the obvious pick to make it to the Class 3A volleyball title game.
The Saints had not won a sectional title since 2020, while their sectional opponent, Angola, had won four in a row and reached the state finals in 2024.
Bishop Dwenger doesn't have a lineup full of players over 6 feet tall, or the kind of major Division I recruits that lead some of the other top teams in the state. Perhaps most notably, the Saints' first-year head coach, Dan Boren, didn't even join the program until a few weeks before tryouts.
But senior outside hitter Lindsay Snyder, at least, still had high ambitions for her final season.
"One of the first conversations I had with (Boren), in the beginning of the year when we met, was 'I want to go to state,'
