Flight operations at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport were disrupted on Friday morning after a technical glitch hit the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system. The glitch caused delays of over 30 minutes on several flights. Passengers told IANS that the airline crew informed them that a technical problem at the ATC was affecting both arrivals and departures. Travellers on delayed flights were advised to remain patient while technical teams worked to restore normal operations.
The delay is reported to have caused temporary congestion at boarding gates as airlines held back departures and incoming flights queued for clearance. According to PTI, over 100 flights were delayed on Friday morning due to technical problems with the air traffic control system.
