ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Rep. Nikki Budzinski, who represents Illinois’ 13th congressional district in the Metro East, visited a food pantry in Edwardsville Thursday.

She was on hand to see how the funding fight surrounding SNAP is impacting people locally.

“We need to reopen the government, but in order to do that it has to be done on a bipartisan basis,” Budzinski said. “I will reemphasis that I think for democrats that’s about coming to the table and addressing a manufactured health care crisis that I think is of their own making.”

Budzinski has urged her colleagues and the White House to come to an agreement.
