CHULA VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A man suspected of murdering two people in their Chula Vista home in February is in custody in Ohio and is awaiting extradition to San Diego County to face charges.

According to the Chula Vista Police Department, on Feb. 21, 2025, at around 2:30 p.m., deputies responded to a call involving suspicious circumstances at a townhouse located in the 1600 block of Paseo Carina in Chula Vista. The caller was reportedly a resident of the townhouse community who had several concerns about a specific apartment, including not seeing the residents for weeks.

When officers arrived at the apartment, they conducted a welfare check and found a 57-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman both dead. The deceased individuals were later identified as Abdul Hasan and Paz Gojar,
