GADSDEN, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Food banks and organizations in east Alabama are working to help families who no longer have access to SNAP benefits; many say they’re already seeing an increase in families who need help.
On Wednesday, city leaders in Gadsden also decided to give money to help those in need .
Lieutenant Roy Fisher with the Salvation Army of Gadsden says he knows the upcoming holidays may be a hard time for some families.
“Through that hope and through the food bank and through what we do and what other agencies are doing, there’s hope out there,” said Fisher.
