SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - As the government shutdown drags on a slew of challenges await air travelers.
The Trump Administration announced Thursday a 10 percent cut in flights at 40 U-S airports.
16 News Now was at the South Bend International Airport.
Four arrivals and four departures were delayed at South Bend International Airport. There will likely be more delays and even cancelations as the F-A-A begins its plan to eliminate 4% of all flights at 40 of the country’s busiest airports.
These airports include both Chicago O’Hare and Midway, as well as the Indianapolis and Detroit airports. This will affect over 200,000 passengers each day. The airlines will gradually cut more flights until 10% of total flights have been eliminated. This would impact nearly 600,000 travelers daily.
