A woman has been left shocked and traumatised after returning from a late-night gym session to find her car robbed and torched in a Perth shopping centre carpark.
Aliya Pi, 30, who arrived in Perth from China on a work-holiday visa two months ago, never expected the ordeal that awaited her when she left her blue Toyota Corolla at Victoria Park Central about 11.30pm on October 2.
Police allege a 26-year-old man broke into her parked car, stole items, then returned to set it alight before fleeing on foot between 11.50pm and 12.15am.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) said two firefighting trucks attended and brought the blaze under control about 12.20am on October 3.
