DAVIDSON, N.C. — William & Mary women’s basketball opened its 2025–26 season on the road Thursday night, falling 71–50 to Davidson College at John M. Belk Arena.

The Tribe (0-1) struggled to find rhythm early, managing just four points in the first quarter as Davidson’s defense forced multiple turnovers and recorded a pair of blocks. Natalie Fox scored twice from the line and added a bucket inside, but the Wildcats built a 12–4 lead after 10 minutes.

William & Mary found its footing in the second quarter behind a hot shooting stretch from Cassidy Geddes, who drained four 3-pointers in the period. Her triple with 2:40 remaining cut Davidson’s lead to two, and Fox added an and-one play to pull the Tribe within 28–26. However, Davidson closed the half on a short run to take a 32–26 advantag
