NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – New Mexico trial lawyers around the city collected truckloads of food to help their neighbors. Five law firms gathered donations for Roadrunner Food Bank on Thursday.
They also helped raise almost $25,000 to help the bank that is seeing thousands more needing food during the government shutdown and the threat of losing SNAP benefits. "My community has always stood up when there are problems in our state, even our country. We all have friends, neighbors, kids who are federal workers or get SNAP benefits, and we are worried," said Lisa Curtis, trial attorney.
Attorneys said Albuquerque always steps up when help is needed.
