WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A boil water advisory has been issued for Belle Plaine in Sumner County.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment issued the advisory Thursday night after a power outage in the pump control system resulted in a loss of pressure. Failure to maintain adequate pressure can lead to bacterial contamination.
Consumers with questions can contact the water system at 620-488-3433.
Precautions
According to the KDHE, customers under a boil water advisory should observe the following precautions until further notice: • Boil water for one minute before drinking or food preparation, or use bottled water. • Dispose of ice cubes, and do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker. • If your tap water appears dirty, flush the water lines by letting the water run
