MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Councilwoman Jerri Green is teaming with MATA to give free bus passes to nonprofits to distribute to residents affected by SNAP benefit cutoffs.

Officials said eligible nonprofits may apply directly to MATA for the bus passes, then distribute them to individuals and families who have experienced a reduction or loss of SNAP benefits.

A limited number of passes are available and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis through participating nonprofits.
