MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Shelby County deputies arrested a woman who threatened to blow up the women's jail, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office (SCSO).
SCSO said a woman called the Release Office at Jail East for Women around 11:30 p.m. on October 30. That woman threatened to blow up the jail if inmate releases didn't begin by midnight, according to the sheriff's office.
SCSO later identified the caller as 23-year-old Kelvionia Townsend. Deputies said Townsend is related to a woman in custody at Jail East on domestic assault charges.
Authorities arrested Townsend on James Road on Thursday, November 6. Townsend was charged with threatening to commit an act of mass violence, false reporting, and harassment.
