SPOKANE, Wash. — Family friends are hosting a fundraiser for a 9-year-old girl and her stepfather, who are still recovering from a motorcycle crash.
Mayzee Wilson was riding with her stepfather on his motorcycle when they were hit by a driver who ran a stop sign.
Now, a month after the accident, family friends are holding a fundraiser with all the proceeds going toward the family's medical and other expenses.
Mayzee's mother says her husband is still recovering from multiple surgeries and still isn't able to work. Mayzee is still recovering from a four-hour-long surgery due to a broken femur and tibia.
The time of the accident came right before he was supposed to start a new job. he was the family's only source of income and Mayzee's mother is pregnant.
