LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - Potter Park Zoo held a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday to unveil its new Animal Health Facility.
"We previously were in a very small clinic," Dr. Ronan Eustace, Potter Park Zoo's Director of Animal Health, explained, "This new facility is about 6,000 square feet. So, a big, big upgrade."
Potter Park Zoo says the facility will offer guests a closer look at the work performed by its veterinary team through viewing windows of the treatment, surgery and laboratory rooms.
It also says the Animal Health Facility exceeds current Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) standards, which represents a leap forward in animal care and education.
