A 66-year-old man was seriously injured early Friday after being hit by a vehicle in Dedham, police said.

A 911 caller reported the man had been hit at 5:06 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Harris and High streets in Dedham. First responders provided aid to the 66-year-old man, who was taken to a Boston hospital by ambulance. The man’s injuries are believed to be serious, Dedham police said in a statement .

The crash remains under investigation. Dedham police notified Massachusetts State Police and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office of the crash.

No further information was immediately available.
