KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - As excitement builds for the KC Current’s playoff game at CPKC Stadium this Sunday, the students at Lindbergh Elementary School got a special surprise from the team on Thursday.
Team representatives and the iconic ‘Teal Man’ put on a pep rally for the young Pilots.
“We have students from over five different countries, five different languages spoken here at Lindbergh. And soccer’s one of those things that bring us together,” said Principal Dustin Wiley.
“I think our students deserve it, and then most importantly, it gives a sense of community,” Family & Engagement Coordinator Dania Romero Arellano told KCTV5 Sports.
The kids learned some fun facts about the team and its historic stadium, colored, and capped the hour off by playing soccer.
