KAIMUKI (HawaiiNewsNow) - A fatal motorcycle crash took place Thursday evening on the H1 Freeway.
Police said the crash took place at about 10:45 p.m., involving a motorcycle in the Kaimuki area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department that a 23-year-old male motorcyclist was driving eastbound on the H1 Freeway at a high rate of speed when he lost control and collided into the guardrail.
As a result of the collision, the man was ejected onto the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
Officials say at this time, speed appears to be a contributing factor to the collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are a contributing factor.
