The five Women’s Premier League (WPL) teams announced their retained players list on Thursday, ahead of the mega auctions later this month. While some decided to retain their entire core, others opted to release several big names in a bid to rebuild their squad for the next cycle.

The Mumbai Indians decided to retain their core in entirety, and while there were no glaring names in the released list, they did decide to let go of pedigreed international names such as Amelia Kerr and Chloe Tryon, opting to go with their full quota of three Indian retentions – Harmanpreet Kaur, Amanjot Kaur and G Kamalini.
