KILGORE, Texas (KETK) -- A Kilgore ISD student has been struck by a vehicle while waiting for a bus on Friday morning.

The school district said the student was waiting to be picked up for school by bus when it was struck.

"We ask our community to keep them in your thoughts and to respect the family’s privacy as we come together to support them in every way we can," the district said.

The Kilgore Police Department said the incident occurred in Rusk County and within the jurisdiction of the county and DPS.
