D1 Training wants you to know it is not a health club.
The franchise, which will open its first Toledo-area facility at 4400 Heatherdowns Blvd. on Nov. 17, is not the place to go for a low-intensity 20-minute workout followed by a relaxing 15 minutes in a sauna or a social hour at a juice bar.
Nor is it a place where people work out alone, isolated from their environment by headphones and ear buds. In fact, all such devices are prohibited. Instead, members become part of teams and are encouraged to support, cheer for, and motivate each other, just as members of an athletic team would.
As its name suggests, D1 Training is about building up athletes of all ages using the training methods aligned with the intensity and performance of Division I college athletics.
