Sylvania YMCA expanding to former LA Fitness, Esporta facility

The YMCA of Greater Toledo has entered a purchase agreement for the former LA Fitness and Esporta facility on North Holland-Sylvania Road, expanding its operations to a new location.

“With more than 7,500 active members, the Sylvania Y family has grown — and this expansion will allow us to serve more families, faster,” a Friday email to members said.

The addition of the Sylvania Township facility, according to the message, will “expand access to wellness programs, youth development, and child care.” The YMCA anticipates it will complete its purchase by the end of the year.

The current Sylvania YMCA/JCC facility at 6465 W. Sylvania Ave. will remain open, and the YMCA said its “long-standing partnership with the Jewish Federation and JCC will continue to thrive.”
