Pittsburgh’s first snow of the season could be on the way in the coming days. But while you might want to dust off your winter coat, you probably won’t need to bust out the shovel yet.

Across Allegheny County, there is an approximately 80% chance of measurable snowfall from Sunday night into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The greatest chance seems to be on Monday. If Nov. 10 indeed brings the first measurable snow of the year, it would be right in line with the historical average of Nov. 14.

But don’t expect to be making any snowmen.

“It's going to be kind of spotty,” said Andrew Kienzle, a meteorologist with the NWS office in Moon. “It's not going to be every single person gets one of those snow showers that could accumulate.”
