It’s not a lock yet, but some areas of New Jersey might see the first snowflakes of the season early next week, when a blast of cold air will arrive along with moisture.

That’s the word from forecasters from AccuWeather and the National Weather Service , who say a bit of snow may fall in the state’s northwestern region late Monday night into early Tuesday morning. But no accumulations are expected at this time.

The weather service’s Mount Holly forecast office says an upper-level disturbance “may bring spotty showers, or even flurries where it gets cold enough fast enough, but significant precip is not expected Monday into Monday evening.”

AccuWeather is predicting some snow showers late Monday into early Tuesday, but only in the southwest corner of New Jersey.
