A busy Glasgow city centre street has been closed for 'emergency' repairs after a sinkhole appeared on Friday (November 7).

Scottish Water is currently carrying out urgent repairs to Elmbank Street , close to the junction with St Vincent Street. It is understood that emergency repairs are being carried out on a damaged sewer.

The area is being fenced off and made safe while preparations are made to carry out a survey of the sewer. Local businesses remain open, but drivers are being asked to follow diversions and allow extra time for their journeys.
