PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - A couple was arrested on Nov. 5 after allegedly fleeing from a crash.
It happened on U.S. 23. near the entrance to Ratliff’s Creek Road.
People in the area said a truck with an attached trailer had a tire fly off, crashing into the windshield of a SUV, causing serious injuries to the driver.
Instead of stopping, the truck reportedly turned onto U.S. 119.
A police officer found the truck and the driver ran away as he saw the officer approaching.
Police arrested him after finding him lying in a ditch.
Jarrad Wayne Hicks, 41, told police he did not stop because he had a suspended license and active warrants.
Cara Nichole Hicks, 44, was also at the scene. Police say she refused to help them apprehend her husband.
