Penticton RCMP had a busier-than-average Halloween evening this year, responding to 50 calls for service — a noticeable increase from the typical 30 calls on a fall Friday night.
The higher volume was attributed largely to Halloween celebrations falling on a Friday.
“The RCMP worked diligently with Penticton Bylaw services and although the evening was busier than normal; the calls for service were not serious and overall the night was a safe one,” said Staff Sgt. Bob Vatamaniuck.
“We appreciate every opportunity not only work with our partners like Penticton Bylaw, Penticton Fire and EHS, but also the citizens of Penticton who called in suspicious activity - keeping our kids safe while they have fun ‘Trick or Treating’ is always the priority.”
