PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — After granting a preliminary injunction barring any troop deployment in Portland, U.S. Judge Karin Immergut will decide Friday whether to extend the order indefinitely.
In a Sunday evening decision, Judge Immergut ruled the preliminary injunction would remain in place until 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, when she will make her final ruling. The current injunction blocks federal officials from deploying any National Guard members from any state to be sent to Oregon.
Immergut, a Trump appointee, presided over a three-day trial earlier last week. She previously issued two temporary restraining orders in the case, blocking the troops pending further litigation.
