MCGREGOR, Texas (KWTX) - Students in McGregor learned some interesting lessons all leading up to Saturday which is National Stem Day.
All week Baylor University professors have been educating students at the elementary, middle, and high school level with different activities.
On Thursday, Dr. Bryan Shaw, Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, visited with students at McGregor’s Junior High School.
In 2008, his son was diagnosed with a rare pediatric eye cancer known as retinoblastoma.
Dr. Shaw has focused his work on developing resources and accommodating laboratories to be more accessible to children who are blind or visually impaired.
Students learned all about proteins visually and then blindfolded by using masks -- adding that extra element.
