As Metro attempts to address local housing needs through zoning policy , a new partnership is channeling its focus on preventing the displacement of longtime Nashvillians.

The Metro General Sessions Court is teaming with nonprofit Rebuilding Together Nashville to take eligible codes violation cases and provide a pathway to address the issues with home repairs. The Metro Codes Department would then reinspect the property and, if compliant, the case would be dismissed.

During an announcement on the Davidson County Courthouse steps Thursday, officials with the initiative said it will particularly help low-income residents, older adults and those with disabilities remain in their homes.
