TOLEDO, Ohio — The Diocese of Toledo said on Friday that the sale of its Pastoral Center building to the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department (TLCHD) has been finalized, prompting a temporary relocation of the Diocese offices while a new facility is constructed.

According to a press release from the Diocese of Toledo, the Pastoral Center, located at 1933 Spielbusch Ave., was determined in 2020 by a committee to be too large and expensive to support the Diocese's current needs. This eventually led to the sale of the building to the health department, which said it needed a newer building to better serve the community. Its current facility, located on N. Erie Street, poses too many problems and would be too costly to renovate, the health department said.
