Mount Clemens — Mount Clemens and Clinton Township fire authorities are still trying to determine the source of a white foamy substance that was entering the Clinton River Friday morning and what it is.
Mount Clemens Fire Department Cpt. David Buscaino said that at around 10 a.m. Friday, a white foamy substance was coming from a main drain into the Clinton River. It started to flow into the river after rain earlier Friday.
Buscaino said his department and the Clinton Township Fire Department placed booms where the drain enters the river. The substance has stopped coming out of the drain, but Buscaino said his department is continuing to monitor it. By 12:30, the substance was no longer entering the river.
Buscaino noted that at this time, the Mount Clemens Fire Department doesn't know
