LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - More than 60 University of Kentucky students have been temporarily relocated after a sprinkler line malfunction caused flooding inside a campus residence hall.

The university confirms the issue happened around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday in Pigman Hall. According to UK, a sprinkler line failed, affecting student rooms on the first, second and third floors.

A total of 66 students were impacted. UK says Housing and Residence Life teams immediately moved students to temporary rooms while maintenance crews worked to stop the leak and assess the damage.

Repairs are expected to take between one and four weeks, depending on the unit.
