ROSSIE, N.Y. (WWTI) - A Gouverneur pair is facing drug possession charges after a traffic stop earlier this week in St. Lawrence County, after authorities allegedly found cocaine and fentanyl packets.

According to the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, they charged 42-year-old Jeremiah Matice and 46-year-old Jennifer Hance with felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Sheriff's deputies stopped the duo on County Route 9 in the town of Rossie.

Authorities allege that Matice and Hance were in possession of 387 packets of fentanyl and around six grams of cocaine.

Both were arraigned in the Gouverneur Town Court and released.

The county's Drug Task Force and the New York State Police assisted in the investigation.
