Aleco’s Cafe & Restaurant in Harrisburg has closed.

The doors of the restaurant at 714 N. Second St. near the Pennsylvania Capitol Building Complex are locked and the contents have been removed.

The reason for the closure remains unclear. Attempts to reach Aleco’s owner Jose “Chuy” Garcia were unsuccessful.

A no trespassing sign from the Pennsylvania State Constable is posted on the front door and directs anyone needing to remove contents from the premises to contact the landlord.

The property owner, San-Pef Property Management, LLC didn’t respond when reached for comment.

Garcia opened Aleco’s at the former St. Moritz Supper Club in 2017 after relocating the business from North Second Street.

The restaurant served pizza, cheesesteaks, subs and heartier Italian entrees.
