The Minnesota House is evenly divided for the 2025–2026 session, with 67 members on each side of the political aisle. In such a closely balanced chamber, building trust and understanding across party lines is essential to getting things done.

I was honored to be selected for the Minnesota Legislative Exchange , a new initiative sponsored by the Citizens League that pairs one Republican and one Democrat for a two-day district exchange. The goal is simple but powerful: to give legislators firsthand insight into the unique challenges, industries, and priorities of communities different from their own.

Each Minnesota House member represents roughly 42,000 residents. Through this program, participants spend two days visiting each other’s districts: touring local employers, meeting community
