BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Kern County is inviting families to the annual Touch-A-Truck event on Saturday.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Beale Memorial Library at 701 Truxtun Ave., according to county officials.

Kids of all ages can climb aboard, explore and interact with trucks and vehicles that serve the community, the county said in a press release.

That includes a garbage truck, oil tanker, tow truck and more, according to organizers.

They can also meet everyday heroes who build, protect and serve Kern County, according to county officials.

Families can also enjoy interactive activities inside the library, as well as food trucks at the site, Kern County Library said.

A special quiet time is set to take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. for children
