GALLATIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Gallatin Shalom Zone and Gallatin Daycare are partnering up to open a new affordable daycare in the city.
The city said the new daycare center will be in a newly renovated wing of the former Union High School. The former high school’s building is also where the Gallatin Shalom Zone is based.

The renovation project was funded by grants and local contributions, including a $500,000 Community Development Black Grant, $110,000 grant from the TNECD and $550,000 from the Gallatin Industrial Development Board.
According to Gallatin Economic Development Agency’s Executive Director Rosemary Bates, the daycare will be open to children in January. Officials are planning to have a ribbon-cutting
