Ketchum City Council candidate Perry Boyle has alleged in an email to Blaine County and Idaho election officials that the arrangement of candidate names on ballots for Tuesday's municipal election violated election law and placed him at a disadvantage—a claim election officials have denied.
Boyle lost his bid for election by 28 votes in the Ketchum City Council race for the council-mayor system, which prevailed in Tuesday's election over the proposed council-manager system.
In his email, sent early Wednesday morning to the Ketchum city clerk, Blaine County clerk, Blaine County commissioners, Idaho Secretary of State's Office and others, he requested an investigation of the ballot structure and asked that the secretary of state "impose the remedies required by Idaho statute."
