Montgomery County Police are investigating the fatal incident.

A 54-year-old woman was shot and killed inside her Fairland home during an argument Thursday, according to Montgomery County Police.

Officers responded to the 3000 block of Memory Lane around 5:41 p.m. on Nov. 6, after receiving reports of a shooting, police said in a release on Friday, Nov. 7.

When officers arrived, they found Sarahi Concepcion Aragon-Cruz, of Fairland, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside the home. 

Life-saving efforts were made, but she was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders, according to police.

Detectives with the department’s Major Crimes Division – Homicide Section said the male suspect, who was known to Aragon-Cruz, shot her during an argument before leaving the home.

Her body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will determine the official cause and manner of death.

Police said detectives are still actively searching for the suspect, and the investigation remains ongoing.
