WASHINGTON D.C. (KKTV) - According to a USDA letter to state agency directors, the agency is working to send full SNAP funding to states on Friday.
According to the letter, posted to the agency’s website on Friday afternoon, the USDA will complete the processes to make those funds available “later today” in compliance with a court order from the District Court of Rhode Island.
It comes after the Trump administration sought an emergency pause to a judge’s order to distribute November’s full monthly SNAP benefits. U.S. District Judge John J. McConnell Jr. had given the administration until Friday to make the payments through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
