Trevor Zanutto started the season with a hot stick. Almost two months later, it hasn’t cooled off.
The Chatham Maroons sophomore forward took a season-high six-game goal streak into Friday’s contest in Stratford.
He led the Greater Ontario Hockey League with 17 goals in 17 games. He was also tied for second in the GOHL scoring race with 28 points.
He’s quick to credit his linemates, Jaxon Priddle and Ewan McChesney. They have great chemistry after playing together since the pre-season.
“They’re both just finding me and we’re playing well together,” Zanutto said. “I just do my thing night in and night out and good things are happening.”
Zanutto, who turns 18 in December, had six goals in 39 games last season as a rookie on the Sutherland Cup champions.
