WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The United Way of the Plains is working with the community to help people in need find their next meal.
The organization hosted a ‘flash food drive’ on Friday, which it says is part of their larger “United Against Hunger” initiative.
Starting in the morning and running until 3 p.m., people interested in donating non-perishable items came by the United Way office in a drive-through style event.
Those with United Way unloaded cars and took the donations to local food banks. Stacy Ward Lattin, Manager of Public Outreach at United Way of the Plains, said the intention for the drive-through format was to make it easy and convenient for people to donate.
