JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The DuBois City Police Department confirmed that they are searching for a prisoner from the Jefferson County Prison who went missing.
In a letter to parents, the DuBois Area School District shared that they were notified that a prisoner on work release was unaccounted for and may have been in the area of DuBois. Due to a missing prisoner, the school district went into lockdown measures as a precaution.
"The District has implemented a modified lockdown across all schools. This procedure limits outdoor activities while allowing normal operations to continue safely inside the buildings. Our school police officers will be vigilant across all campuses and will work diligently with local and state law enforcement," the school said in a statement.
