PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Shapiro administration announced today that SNAP benefits for Pennsylvanians are being reinstated following a successful legal battle against the Trump administration.
Governor Shapiro had sued the Trump administration to restore SNAP benefits, and the court ruled in his favor. As a result, Pennsylvanians who were supposed to receive their benefits on November 1 but did not will now have those funds sent to their SNAP cards.
Shapiro said he was "angry" because he sees "hungry people" across the state that he claims are hungry due to the Trump administration. He also said the Trump administration is once again in court attempting to halt the distribution of these benefits.
