BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A new study is showing how veterans in Pennsylvania are being educated and given the skills they need to enter back into civilian life.

The Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania (AICUP) released its second annual study on how veterans are being educated in the Commonwealth. Key takeaways include Pennsylvania being the eighteenth largest educator of G.I. Bill students, and nearly 6,000 veterans pursued a degree at an AICUP member college in 2025, with that being a 7% increase from 2024.

According to AICUP President Tom Foley, most veterans are pursuing careers in homeland security.
