LENAWEE CO., Mich. (WILX) - A man convicted of unlawfully imprisoning his sons is set to be released from prison, court documents show.
John Skelton, 53, was convicted of three counts of unlawful imprisonment 15 years ago in Lenawee County.
His sons, Andrew (9-years-old), Alexander (7-years-old) and Tanner Skelton (5-years-old), disappeared while they were with John on Thanksgiving in 2010.
He was charged after failing to return his sons to their mother, Tanya Zuvers.
The boys have never been found. A judge ruled the three boys were legally dead in March of this year. That same day, Zuvers asked the judge to officially acknowledge that Skelton had killed the boys. The judge denied the request.
