SUFFOLK, Va. — Suffolk police said they have arrested an 18-year-old student who allegedly made a threat against Lakeland High School on social media.
Police said they were called to the school on Friday at around 9:20 a.m. The school was placed on a hold while police searched the premises.
Law enforcement isolated and detained the student who made the threat, police said. He was identified as 18-year-old Dashawn Knight, and has since been charged with threats of death or discharge of a firearm on school property.
No weapons were found on school grounds, police said, and no one was injured in the incident. Suffolk police said the all clear was given around noon.
Police said they are continuing to investigate the incident.
